Kitchen Hips embarks on West Coast tour: December 4th-12th, 2015

This December, Kitchen Hips will be joining local grrl-group Tonopah on a musical journey up the West Coast - it's the December to Remember Tour! Beginning on December 4th, we will be travelling to the following cities: 

December 4th - Los Angeles, CA (kickoff party!)
December 5th - ​Oakland, CA
December 7th / 10th - Portland, OR
December 8th / 9th - Seattle, WA
December 11th  - Arcata, CA
December 12th - San Francisco, CA 

If you're local, be sure to show your support; we would love to meet our fans far and wide, new and old! December to Remember Tour will be our second tour of the year, and will celebrate the continual success of our previous album, Lazy Weather. Cassette tapes, t-shirts, keychains and more will be available for purchase.

​Over the summer, Kitchen Hips recorded a live session at the legendary Daytrotter studios in Rock Island, IL. The session features two new songs, (Another Day and Let's Let Go) along with classic faves, Me Oh My and One, Tulip, Threelip, Four. Recorded on reel-to-reel tape, this intimate session is a warm and friendly take on the vintage-living-room-brand of country music Kitchen Hips is known for.

Kitchen Hips Breaks out of Bedroom for First US Tour

Los Angeles based folk artist Kitchen Hips leaves behind their brand of bedroom folk for the open road, releases limited edition single

In anticipation of their Pick Something Up summer tour, Los Angeles’ folksy sweetheart Kitchen Hips will be releasing Pick Something Up, the single from their forthcoming album, Lonely Weekend.  There will be a limited-time download link on their website and Bandcamp page, available for the duration of the tour.

 Kitchen Hips will be travelling from Lincoln, NE to Iowa City, IA between July 15th-July 28th. They will be supported by Nebraska-based country-western band, John. 

Kitchen Hips is both a person and a band. Alongside her boyfriend Evan Hemsley, Kitchen Hips makes melodious music steeped in hominess, heartache, and DIY folk spirit. Together as Kitchen Hips, they recorded their upcoming album, Lonely Weekend, in a bedroom-turned-studio over the span of 48 hours. Combining witty meditations on self-doubt and sadness with her unique vocal stylings, plus woodwinds from the talented Will Mullaney, Lonely Weekend—a companion piece to their previous cassette release, Lazy Weather—is a fusion of sentimental old-timey jazz, country crooners, and the freak folk revival of the 21st century.
